SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW

The Cape Breton University Fully Funded Scholarships in Canada will open soon and begin gathering the paperwork needed for admission.
More than 20 academic programs and 60 different fields of study are available at CBU, including both undergraduate and graduate options.

Each year, $2.6 million in scholarships and bursaries are made available to students enrolling at CBU thanks to the kind donations of donors.
Based on their academic performance, students coming straight out of high school or through articulation agreement partners are given consideration for entry scholarships.

Cape Breton University Scholarships

BENEFITS OF CAPE BRETON UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS

The amount of the scholarship depends on how many credits eligible students are enrolled in during the semester in which they receive it.

If a student is enrolled in at least 9 credits in the semester they receive the scholarship, scholarships will be promptly posted to their accounts in the upcoming Fall or Winter semester (about two weeks after the Add/Drop deadline in September and January, respectively).

Students who qualify and have 15 credits registered will earn $500.
Students who qualify and have 12 credits registered will get $400.
Students who qualify and have nine credits registered will get $300.

Academic In-Course Scholarships are not awarded during the Spring/Summer semester or for courses taken during the Spring/Summer semester (except for students registered in the Bachelor of Science Nursing in terms 5 and 8).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

After each Fall and Winter semester. To be eligible, students must not be in receipt of a renewable scholarship and must complete a minimum of 9 credits with an overall average of at least 80% during a Fall or Winter semester.

Students registered in the Bachelor of Education and Master of Business Administration programs are not eligible for these scholarships. Students registered with the Jennifer Keeping Centre can contact [email protected] for more information on eligibility.

Entrance Bursaries

Provided to students entering CBU who prove a strong financial need in order to enter their studies will be considered. The application becomes available in January and closes in March each year.

Students must also submit official income tax documentation for themselves and parent(s)/guardian(s) for consideration. These bursaries are awarded upon enrollment in September.
